Bey Rivals controls: use the in-game prompts before your first match
The control list inside the game is the only source that cannot go stale. This page tells you which four control roles to find there, what each one changes in a bout, and how to record the answer so the next match is faster than the last one.
Why this page has no key map
The official listing confirms battles, the launch, abilities and progression, but it does not publish a PC, mouse or mobile key map. A published key map is exactly the thing that goes stale after the next patch, so this page teaches you to read the in-game list instead of reproducing a table that will be wrong later.
The four control roles to find in the in-game list
| role | what it changes in a bout | how to confirm it | common mistake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | Starts your Bey's spin. The official clash screen shows a launch prompt, and the window where you hit it is what the whole bout is built around. | Open the in-game control list and find the action the game labels as your launch. Press it once in a practice bout and watch the top start spinning. | Do not assume the launch input is the same as in other spinning games. Read the label the game gives you. |
| Movement / aim | Positions your Bey around the arena. Where your Bey sits relative to the opponent changes the contact. | In a practice bout, move once and note whether the arena camera follows your Bey or stays fixed. | Do not swap movement bindings mid-bout; the muscle memory matters more than the preference. |
| Ability / special | The official description lists unlocking new abilities and training as the progression path, so the ability inputs are the long-term skill you are building. | List the abilities your Bey shows in the UI, then trigger one in a practice bout to see its range and recovery. | Do not assume an ability is available before it is unlocked in your own account. |
| Menu / exit | Opens the in-game panels: Store, Codes entry, and settings. This is the path you will use most outside a bout. | Open the menu once before your first match so you know where the code entry point is. | Never share your password or 2FA code with any guide, tracker, or form. |
Device-neutral setup checklist
- Join from a stable network and open the official experience.
- Before launching a match, open the in-game control prompts and read every listed action for your current device.
- Confirm you can launch, move around the arena, and exit menus using only those in-game prompts.
- If a prompt is unclear, stay in a practice or NPC bout until it makes sense. Do not import bindings from other games.
- Fill the notebook below after the first bout, then re-open the controls before your second fight.
First-match observation notebook
Each row names what to write and how to get the answer. Fill it in after your first practice bout — this is the page that replaces the key map other guides publish.
| field | how to fill it |
|---|---|
| Launch action I found | Write the exact action name the in-game list gives you, so you can find it again without guessing. |
| Launch window I hit | Note whether your spin started early, late, or about right, in your own words. |
| Ability inputs I can trigger | List only abilities that actually fired in a practice bout, with the slot or button the game shows. |
| Where the code entry lives | Note the panel the developer points you to, so you do not hunt for it during an event. |
| Device and input method | Record your device and whether you used touch, keyboard or a controller. |
| Next thing to recheck | Pick the single item from this list you will confirm in your next bout. |
Why practise against NPCs first
The official description names two opponent types: other players and powerful NPCs. NPCs are the right place to test a control because a mistake there does not cost you ladder progress, while a mistake against a player can. Read the launch prompt, trigger an ability once, and learn the HUD before you meet a real opponent.
